 Excellent Minds

Our SPECIAL Students Deserve a SPECIAL Education!

Our Curriculum:

We offer a challenging curriculum to all grade levels academically and more importantly the social skills most of our students are lacking. A variety of curriculum's are used to best provide our students the individual education needed with A Beka and Bob Jones Press. Math, language arts, reading and writing are our primary focus. Additional classes in music, art, penmanship, PE and social skills help to round out our student’s development. We offer a structured environment free from bullying, taunting and teasing so that the self-esteem of the children can grow. Structure and a small student:teacher ratio are an important part of the program at all levels. Current teacher:student ratio is 8:1 and will not exceed 12:1.

Classroom Learning:

We are proud to be implementing the A-Beka curriculum as well as Bob Jones Press Christian curriculum!  Throughout the nation A-Beka and BJU Press is recognized as the standard of excellence in the publishing of textbooks and other scholastic materials. The A-Beka approach to education keeps learning lively, interesting, and memorable.  It is important to have hands on, tactile instruction with a teacher for optimal learning. Working alongside peers also helps to encourage social development. In addition to group learning we also work with each child in small groups and individually.

The fundamental backbone of an education is reading, writing and math skills.  Our daily lessons include Math, Language Arts, Reading/Reading Comprehension, Writing and of course every child's favorite...recess!  We incorporate weekly lessons in Health, Science and Social Studies as well.  Social development is utilized in every class as a learning tool.

We also have PE and Art by an outside instructor. We are excited to have "reading buddies" that come once a week to read with each child, as well as many field trips. We are currently looking for a music teacher but students will still be introduced to music weekly.

Computer Learning:

Technology plays an important part in today's world, and we want to use that technology as a learning tool.  It is not only important our children know how to "use" a laptop or I pad but that they know how to use it properly and safely.  We will also use instruction on internet security, "do's and don'ts",  and how to use the many functions available on a computer.
